The course text
"Mastering Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2005" (MAADT2005) by Paul
F. Aubin, will take the student from learning the user interface through the
building design process to the generation of full building plans and architectural
renderings. This course is the first of a series and will cover the first 5
chapters of the text book ending with the production of a small commercial project
and a small residential project.

Intended Audience
While it is not necessary to own and run the software to take this course it is highly recommended. It is possible to read the text and pass the quiz, however this course is intended for professionals that are familiar with Autodesk AutoCAD software and are reasonably proficient in its use. Architectural Desktop is a very complex program with a lengthy learning curve. MAADT2005 goes a long way to drastically reduce that learning curve. This course will also provide insight for those considering the move to ADT.

MAADT2005 is an excellent tool for learning and using Architectural Desktop on your own. However if you do self teach you will not get continuing education credit unless you complete the course and the exam that is part of this course. About the Author
Mr. Paul Aubin has a background in the architectural profession spanning over
fifteen years. In addition to writing, Paul travels the country speaking and
providing implementation, training and support services. He currently serves
as the Moderator for Cadalyst magazine's online CAD questions forum, and has
been published in their print magazine.
He is a regular speaker at Autodesk University® and was the recipient of
the Autodesk® Central Region 2001 Architectural Award of Excellence. Paul
has been a guest speaker at Chicago area events for The American Institute of
Architects Northeast Illinois, Chicago Area Users' Groups and The Association
of Licensed Architects. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Paul was
an Associate with a leading Autodesk Systems Center in Chicago where he successfully
trained over 1100 professionals in Architectural Desktop, AutoCAD and 3D Studio
VIZ. While in architectural practice, Paul served as CAD Manager with an Interior
Design and Architecture firm in downtown Chicago and amassed many years of hands-on
project architect level experience. The combination of his experiences in architectural
practice, as a CAD Manager and an Instructor give his writing, classroom instruction
and consultation a fresh and credible focus. Paul is an associate member of
the American Institute of Architects. He received his Bachelor of Science in
Architecture and his Bachelor of Architecture from The Catholic University of
America.
Paul F. Aubin is a professional Autodesk Training Center (ATC) Manager and successful
Senior ADT Applications Engineer for Consulting For Architects, Inc. (CFA).
Throughout his six years with CFA, Paul has successfully trained over 1,100
professionals in Architectural Desktop, AutoCAD and 3D Studio VIZ. He also serves
as the Moderator for CADence magazine's online CAD question forum. Paul was
among the speakers at Autodesk University 2000 and the recipient of the Autodesk
Central Region 2001 Architectural Award of Excellence. Paul Aubin received both
a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (1989) and a Bachelor of Architecture
(1990) from the Catholic University of America.
