Brian M. McCaffrey, P.E. This course provides an overview of wind turbine components and design considerations for optimization of power generation. Typical power ratings and sizes for wind turbines are explained for various residential-scale, industrial-scale, and utility-scale applications. Additionally, the components and considerations for a typical utility-scale wind energy project are discussed. This course is based entirely on Wind Turbine Technology Overview, published by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). This course includes a multiple choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials. ![]() NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
