Anthony K. Ho, PE Structured Text (ST) is a high level textual programming language that is a Pascal like language. It is developed and published by IEC in the IEC 61131-3 international standard, which standardizes programming languages for programmable logic controllers (PLC). ST is very flexible and intuitive for writing control algorithms. The language, which is as efficient as ladder logic, uses typical operators such as logical branching, multiple branching, and loops. This course is designed to help attendee acquire the necessary knowledge in developing programs using the language. Whether the attendee is already comfortable with high level programming language or a beginner in logic development, the course can prepare the student with this popular trend in industrial process control. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials. ![]() NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
