The amount of moisture vapour in the air varies quite significantly under different conditions. When the air is hot it can contain a large amount of moisture vapour, sometimes as much as 5% by volume. When it is cold, its capacity to hold the moisture as a vapour is reduced. The subject “psychrometrics” deals with air-moisture relationships and the air conditioning engineers use the psychometric chart to predict changes in the environment.
This course provides a simple introduction to psychrometric principles and how they relate to the indoor environment.
The course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
