A. Bhatia, B.E. In earlier years, buildings were designed to exploit naturally available cooling. Some structures were sophisticated and constructed to take advantage of daily temperature variations, convective breezes, shade, evaporative cooling, and radiation cooling. Today, with higher electrical costs and growing environmental concerns, many of these simpler techniques, are once again becoming more attractive. This 4-hour course will introduce you to the passive cooling systems and is intended to be used as guidelines to choose technologies that are suitable to different situations. The course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. ![]() NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
