Opportunities for engineers in medical advances and medical practice for the entire body and body subsystems are unlimited because the body and body functions are complex and beyond current knowledge. The improved medical science and practice (msp) will ultimately improve patient quality of life when the engineering solution is successfully implemented. This online course provides basic knowledge needed to solve medical problems and/or design new solutions/products in this increasingly important and relatively new field. In addition, students will learn methods for finding opportunities in medical sciences & practice in fields of interest and locations of interest to them. No special knowledge is required other than wise engineering judgment and a working knowledge of mathematics, basic physical sciences and engineering.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
