Ethical Principles (Live Webinar)PE, PLS & RA; AIA

John C. Huang, Ph.D., PE

Licensed professionals such as engineers and land surveyors are expected to conduct their business in an ethical and professional manner. Each state board of professional engineers and land surveyors also requires their licensees to follow their standards of professional conduct. While these standards vary from state to state, the basic requirements for professional conduct are very similar throughout the United States. In this webinar, we will study the five basic ethical principles and review the standards of professional conduct for engineers and land surveyors.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. All quiz questions are reviewed during the webinar.

*Note to New York licensed PE & LS:
The acceptable continuing education subjects for NY PE/LS include study of law, rules and/or ethics which contribute to the professional practice in engineering and land surveying in the state of New York. In addition, you need minimum one-hour training in professional ethics in each triennium. This course will help you satisfy that requirement.

This course overlaps with R406W (8-PDH version). So please attend either R404W or R406W, but not both in the same renewal cycle.

* Note: This course can be used to satisfy ethics training requirement for engineers licensed in New Jersey (min. 2 PDHs in ethics) and New York (min. 1 PDH in ethics). But it cannot be used to satisfy Florida’s 4-PDH requirement in Florida Board Laws & Rules (You need to take Course R205 for that purpose).

Note to Webinar Attendees:

Our live webinars (web seminars) are considered as "Courses of Learning" (live courses) by the New York State Board for Engineering and Land Surveying and as "Timed & Monitored Courses" by the Ohio State Board for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. Unlike the traditional seminars held in a classroom setting, our webinars deliver live instruction to your home or office. You will be able to interact directly with our instructor during a webinar through audio channel or chat box. However, you must attend the webinar at a scheduled date and time. We will verify your attendance through our online webinar platform. The certificate of completion will not be issued unless you attend the webinar and pass a quiz (all quiz questions will be reviewed during the webinar). Thank you for your cooperation.
